Top 10 Must See Movies this Holiday 2010

Category: Best List | Best of | new list | top 10 listsThe List Ninja @ 00:02

Is it part of your family tradition to go the movies on Thanksgiving and Christmas night? Many families get a little stir crazy and just need a break.  Some just like to take break from buying all the holiday gifts. Here are the Top 10 holiday movies for 2010 so that you plan your getaway from the family:

·         Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1

The first installment of the two-film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows follows Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron (Rupert Grint), and Hermione (Emma Watson) as they search for the pieces of Voldemort's (Ralph Fiennes) soul that he extracted from his being and hid in obscure locations both far and wide.

·         MegaMind

Megamind is the most brilliant supervillain the world has ever known and the least successful. Over the years, he has tried to conquer Metro City in every imaginable way

·         The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Upon returning to Narnia to join Prince Caspian for a voyage on the majestic royal vessel known as The Dawn Treader, Lucy, Edmund, and their cousin Eustace encounter merfolk, dragons, dwarves, and a wandering band of lost warriors.

·         Yogi Bear

Hanna-Barbera's beloved picnic-basket-stealing bear makes his big-screen debut in this live-action/animation mix children's flick from Journey to the Center of the Earth director Eric Brevig. The tourists just aren't flocking to Jellystone Park like they used to, and when the budget starts to get tight, Mayor Brown (Andrew Daly) brings down the axe.

·         Tron: Legacy

The Master Control Program is booted back up in this revamped Tron continuation that sees the return of original star Jeff Bridges as Kevin Flynn, the brilliant computer programmer whose disappearance leads his son, Sam (Garrett Hedlund), to search for him in and out of the computer world.

·         Little Fockers

A birthday party for the twins gives Greg an opportunity to redeem himself after he takes a job that raises the suspicions of his overbearing father-in-law, Jack (Robert De Niro), in this installment of the hit comedy series. Greg (Ben Stiller) and Pam (Teri Polo) have been together for ten years, and now they're the proud parents of two adorable twins.

·         Tangled

When the kingdom’s most wanted—and most charming—bandit Flynn Rider (voice of Zachary Levi) hides out in a mysterious tower, he’s taken hostage by Rapunzel  (voice of Mandy Moore), a beautiful and feisty tower bound teen with 70 feet of magical, golden hair.

·         Due Date

Director Todd Phillips re-teams with his break-out Hangover star Zach Galifianakis for this road movie concerning a soon-to-be father (played by Robert Downey Jr.) and his cross-country trip to make it back in time for his baby's birth -- with the only roadblock being the dubious passenger (Galifianakis) who's along for the ride.

·         Gulliver’s Travels

Jack Black stars in the 20th Century Fox adaptation of Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels with this fantasy-filled comedic production. This take on the timeless tale revolves around a shipwrecked journalist (Black) who discovers an island in the heart of the Bermuda Triangle where he is the biggest occupant in comparison to its tiny inhabitants.

·         True Grit

A 14-year-old girl (Hailee Steinfeld) joins an aging U.S. marshal (Jeff Bridges) and another lawman (Matt Damon) in tracking her father's killer into hostile Indian territory in Joel and Ethan Coen's adaptation of Charles Portis' original novel.

Pre-Season Top 10 NCAA Men's Basketball 2010

Category: Best List | Best of | facts | new list | top 10 listsThe List Ninja @ 02:21

Who is your favorite NCAA Men’s Basketball team?  Did they make the pre-season Top 10 according to latest CBS rankings? Every year we have a chance to watch a player that could end up as the best college basketball player of all time.  Here is the list of pre-season Top 10:

1. Duke

Comment: Mike Krzyzewski has more options with this roster than last season's team because of the additions of McDonald's All-American point guard Kyrie Irving and transfer Seth Curry, otherwise known as Stephen Curry's younger brother. The Plumlee brothers should be better up front, Smith and Kyle Singler are accomplished scorers and Andre Dawkins is back to provide backcourt depth.

2. Michigan State

Comment: Tom Izzo's decision to reject an offer from the Cleveland Cavaliers and remain at Michigan State will keep the Spartans nationally relevant for years to come. A seventh Final Four in the past 13 seasons is the goal, and it's attainable thanks to the return of Kalin Lucas, Durrell Summers and Draymond Green.

3. Purdue

Comment: Robbie Hummel, JaJuan Johnson and E'Twaun Moore won't all develop into first-team All-Americans, but any of them could. That's why the Boilermakers should be among the favorites -- if not the favorite -- in the Big Ten and a smart man's pick to make the Final Four.

4. Ohio State

Comment: Remember how Texas had a better team the year after Kevin Durant left college? Life after E.T. (Evan Turner) will be similar for Ohio State thanks to Jared Sullinger, a freshman big man who could carry the Buckeyes to a Big Ten title.

5. Pittsburgh

Comment: What the roster lacks in future NBA players it makes up for in winners. Jamie Dixon has never had a bad team at Pittsburgh, and this won't be his first.

6. Kansas State

Comment: The Wildcats could make another Elite Eight (at least) thanks to the return of Jacob Pullen, Curtis Kelly and Jamar Samuels. The Frank Martin hire is looking smarter by the day.

7. North Carolina

Comment: This is higher than most have North Carolina. But the Tar Heels have a pro on the wing (Harrison Barnes), a pro at power forward (John Henson) and a pro in the middle (Tyler Zeller).

8. Florida

Comment: The Gators snapped a string of two straight NITs last season. This season they'll return to being nationally relevant, and, perhaps, SEC champions thanks to five guys -- Chandler Parsons, Kenny Boynton, Erving Walker, Alex Tyus and Vernon Macklin -- who averaged double figures last season (not to mention the addition of Patric Young).

9. Villanova

Comment: Like Ohio State without Turner, it's fair to think the Wildcats could be better without Scottie Reynolds. Credit Jay Wright's recruiting -- or just Jay Wright in general -- as the reason.

10. Baylor

Comment: Baylor's season was resuscitated Thursday when LaceDarius Dunn was allowed to return to classes despite the fact that he's facing a felony charge stemming from a domestic dispute. His presence ensures the Bears will have at least one star. The potential of Perry Jones makes it safe to assume they'll have at least two.
