Are you thinking about cutting back on hours at work? This list of the Top 10 countries that work the least will provide the perfect place for you to live.  There is a strong correlation between the highest average wage per hour and the nations that work the least.  If an individual works an average of 40 hours per week in a year, the common number used for calculation is 2,080 hours.  So pack up the family and move to one these countries that work the least and cut back at least 400 hours a year.

1.      Germany 

·         Average annual hours per person: 1,330

·         Average working hours per week: 25.6

·         Average wage per hour: $35.33 (7th highest)

·         2011 unemployment rate: 6 percent

 

2.      Netherlands 

·         Average annual hours per person: 1,336

·         Average working hours per week: 25.7

·         Average wage per hour: $42.67 (4th highest)

·         2011 unemployment: 4.4 percent

 

3.      France 

·         Average annual hours per person: 1,392

·         Average working hours per week: 26.8

·         Average wage per hour: $34.26 (8th highest)

·         2011 unemployment rate: 9.3 percent

 

4.      Austria 

·         Average annual hours per person: 1,431

·         Average working hours per week: 27.5

·         Average wage per hour: $36.63 (6th highest)

·         2011 unemployment rate: 4.2 percent

 

5.      Belgium 

·         Average annual hours per person: 1,446

·         Average working hours per week: 27.8

·         Average wage per hour: $38.90 (5th highest)

·         2011 unemployment rate: 7.2 percent

Top 10 Most Stressful Jobs

Which jobs would you put in the Top 10 most stressful careers?  Some careers are not what automatically come to mind when you think of jobs that would make the list.  Since April is Stress Awareness month, the folks at CareerCast conducted a survey of over 200 jobs to rank the stress level in each career.  If you are located in a great location like San Diego or Hawaii  – Is your stress level reduced?

Job Search? Tips for your Resume

Looking for a job can be tough in this economy.  Job searches are tough in a good economy.  Make sure that you follow a few of these tips to ensure that your resume stands out as one of the most professional.  Then send it off to one of the companies list on FasList's  Best Places to Work.  Let’s get started tuning up your resume:

·         Leave off your Hobbies and Interests:  As a hiring manager, it always concerned me when prospects put more than I wanted to know.

·         Make sure every comment is positive:  Negativity on a resume is sure way to end up in the trash can.

·         Customize (a little) the objective to the company: You may feel it is about you but it is about them. 

·         Picture: If they want to see your picture – they can go to Linked-In.  Make sure your FaceBook and MySpace profile is appropriate for a job seeker.  Yes – we do check.
